Deborah Peacock Recipient of 2004 YWCA Award
Albuquerque, New Mexico - April 1, 2004
Contratulations to Deborah Peacock, who was one of the winners of the prestigious 2004 YWCA Women on the Move Award! The YWCA Middle Rio Grande chapter established the Women on the Move Awards in 1985 to recognize women who have made significant contributions to their communities, businesses, and organizations. The award honors women from all walks of life who have a positive impact on others through their leadership and community service.
The award was presented to Deborah on April 1, 2004, along with an original bronze Betty Sabo sculpture. Deborah was selected for her community work with Explora!, the Nature Conservancy, the Albuquerque Concert Band, and several other non-profit organizations. Deborah is currently the President of the Board of Directors of the Explora! Science Center and Children's Museum.
The YWCA also selected Rick and Debbie Johnson for its 2004 New Mexican Vision Award which honors outstanding New Mexicans whose lives and work embody the YWCA's empowering vision of a world of peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people.
