Isaac Estrada
Intellectual Property -- Patent, Copyright, and Trademark
Isaac Estrada practices with Peacock and Myers, P.C. handling patent, trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property matters, particularly in the field of biotechnology. He is a Registered Patent Attorney and a member of the New Mexico Bar.
Before joining Peacock Myers, Isaac clerked for two years for the Honorable Judge Jonathan Sutin in the New Mexico Court of Appeals.
Isaac is currently in the Johns Hopkins University Advance Academic Program pursuing a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology. He graduated from the University of Memphis (Magna Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences in 1999, and from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2008.
During law school, Isaac was a senior legal intern at the University of New Mexico 's technology transfer office. He was Lead Article Editor of the Natural Resources Journal, participated in the Giles Southerland Rich I.P. Moot Court, and received the ABA/BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property, CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in the study of Patent and Trademark law, and WIPO Academy Certificates for Biotechnology and Intellectual Property, and Electronic Commerce courses. Isaac was also a member of the 2008 UNM Technology Business Plan Competition 3 rd Place Winning Team.
Prior to attending law school, Isaac held positions as a senior research technologist both at Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital , Department of Genetics, and Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, Department of Immunology. While working at Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, Isaac made an exceptional discovery of a strong and unknown interaction between a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins and a stress chaperon (soon to be submitted for publication).
