Justin R. Jackson
Intellectual Property -- Patent, Copyright, Trademark, Litigation
Justin R. Jackson practices with Peacock Myers, P.C. in the areas of Intellectual Property procurement and IP litigation and has testified as an expert witness regarding intellectual property matters. Justin clerked with the firm for two and a half years before joining as an associate attorney. Prior to clerking with the firm, Justin worked for Oklahoma State University's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department where he designed and built electrical circuits for undergraduate classroom instruction, as well as for the research projects of professors and graduate students.
Justin graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology before graduating from The University of New Mexico School of Law.
Justin is a Registered Patent Attorney and a member of the New Mexico Bar, the American Bar Association, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and is active in the
Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association.
In his spare time, Justin enjoys rock climbing, rappelling, mountain biking, playing the guitar and singing, and is an avid snowboarder.
Justin's initial interest in Intellectual Property developed when he began studying how to draft and file patent applications on his own for some of his inventions. Justin's grandfather is also an inventor who has had three patents issued to him. Those patents are: U.S. Patent No. 3,206,196, entitled "Target Device"; U.S. Patent No. 4,694,936, entitled "Exterior Brake for Tandem Tires"; and U.S. Patent No. 4,934,489, entitled "Tandem Tire Break".
